Introduction


Hi everyone, my name is Victoria Miller. I am majoring in General Business and after will continue on to graduate school to become a physical therapist. I am from Adrian MI and have two brothers, one older and one younger. My older brother's name is Benjamin and he is 21 and my younger brother's name is Aaron and he is almost 15. I went to Onsted for 9 years then switched to Adrian to finish high school. I also did Irish step dancing for six years and participated in the school musical and one year of show choir. I had hoped to do more but COVID put a slight dent in my plans. I played flute and piccolo for my high school band as well as being drum major senior year. I am excited to learn about a history that I’ve never got to learn about before and to talk and discuss the topics we learn with everyone.

    Thank you, Victoria, for the introduction. You have an impressive background in music and congratulations on being named (or selected) as drum major. Just curious about why you chose General Business as a major if you plan to eventually study physical therapy? I look forward to having you in class.

 Hi Seth, reading your post was really interesting. I also thought that the book seemed to have a very hopeless attitude. The thought of only existing to pass on DNA is something I hadn't thought about while reading the book but I makes you question if the work that Evita put into making a better Argentina was worth all the strife she got and the shortened life span. Week of March 24th

I really enjoyed the reading History will absolve me, it is one of my favorite reading that we did this year. I enjoyed reading his perspective and I still can believe that he made such a speech with out any notes. There were so many things that Castro talked about in his speech that I strongly agreed with and everything he said was very clear and understandable that it had no chance of being interpreted any other way. I also enjoyed the sarcastic and passive aggressive comments that he made through out the speech. These literature devices really show how passionate Castro was about his arguments against the government because he is not trying to be professional and he is just speaking his thoughts without restraint in my opinion.  I also appreciated how he not only used Cuba’s and Latin America’s history, but also the history of other countries as well as their beliefs to support his arguments. Blog: 4.21

 I really enjoyed dancing on Wednesday, it was a really great experience and it will be something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am not from around grand rapids and don't really know about what there is to do around here but because of this experience I now know about more activities that I plan to take advantage of in the future. I believe that dance should be taught and done a lot more as just a basic pass time. I used to think that was only something like ballet were you are taught by a dance instructor, you learn a dance, then you preform that dance at a recital. I had never really considered it as something you just do one the streets. It made me really happy to learn that dancing is the most predominant pass time in Cuba, I love dancing and to think it's how a lot of spend their free time it just makes me so happy.
